She is a successful actress while her daughter is both a talented actress and writer.

And on Saturday, Beverley Callard, 65, was every inch the proud mum as she stepped out with her rarely seen daughter Rebecca, 47, at the premiere of her new film A Bit Of Light.

The duo shared a warm embrace as they posed for photographs on the red carpet together at Curzon Soho in London, during the 30th Raindance Film Festival.

Beverley – who played Liz McDonald on Coronation Street for 30 years – looked sharp in a tailored black suit, which boasted lace up detailing.

Rebecca opted for a demure high-neck black gown featuring a pussy-bow neckline as she oozed gracefulness.

As well as Rebecca, who Corrie star Beverley shares with first husband Paul Atkinson, the soap actress is also mum to Joshua Collard, 33, who she shares with ex-husband Steve Collard.

The new film is a screen adaptation of Rebecca’s self-written stage-play of the same name about a recovering alcoholic and her attempts to build bridges with her estranged children.

It comes after Beverley previously said she has no plans to return to Coronation Street, saying she had ‘no life’ while working on the soap.

Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, Beverley remarked that the scripts are not ‘as good’ in comparison to how they were when she first set foot on the cobbles back in 1989.

She explained: ‘As an actor, you’re scared to say no to a job, but the scripts came and I thought I’ve just got to trust my instincts really.

‘It’s not nine to five, it’s like seven until ten at night and it’s six days a week, it’s really full on and you have no life, like it used to be a lot harder years ago when the cast was smaller.’

On the current writing on the soap, she added: ‘I personally don’t think the scripts are as good now, I think we’re overloaded with soap operas, which is a shame.’

The former soap star went on to say how casting directors could often be ‘snooty’ when it came to scripts, and told how she’s passed on scripts since leaving Corrie.

Beverley added that upon reflection, she sometimes finds herself second guessing herself about whether she should have gone for the role.

Last year, the actress confirmed that she has ‘shut the door’ on the ITV soap ‘forever’.

Beverley admitted she has no plans to ever reprise the role again and has given Coronation Street bosses permission to kill off her character.

Speaking to the Sunday Express magazine, she said: ‘It was a massive decision for me to make, but I believe I did it for the right reasons. I felt Liz had run her course. I’d hate to cheat any fans… I felt like she’d lost her way.’
