
Four cops have been injured and three police cars damaged after a dramatic effort to stop a runaway allegedly stolen truck in Queensland.
Officers attempted to intercept the truck at Meringandan north of Toowoomba on Wednesday afternoon.
But about 1.30pm the truck ploughed into a police vehicle trying to stop it causing serious injuries to two officers – with one rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital and the other airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Shortly after, the truck rammed another two police cars before finally grinding to halt at nearby Kleinton.
Two more police officers sustained minor injuries.
The alleged driver and only person aboard the truck was detained by police at the scene.
An investigation is underway with charges expected to follow overnight.
