An author and journalist has detailed the experience of her brief relationship with Russell Brand – who is now accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse – before he ‘dumped’ her for Kate Moss.
The allegations against Brand, which include controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour, are claimed to have taken place between 2006 and 2013.
Brand has denied the ‘very serious criminal allegations’ made against him in an expose by Channel 4‘s Dispatches and is continuing with his scheduled stand-up show this evening.
In her book The Wrong Knickers which was published in 2014, Bryony Gordon claims Brand got her number from his PR team at the time before bombarding her with texts and calls.
Gordon met Brand while interviewing him during his stint as a presenter on Channel 4’s Big Brother’s Big Mouth. She writes that he ‘spent the whole of our interview asking if he could kiss me, and every time I said no, it only caused him to ask me more’.

The bombshell claims against Brand came after he posted an astonishing video late on Friday night where he insisted any relationships he had ‘during his time of promiscuity’ were ‘consensual’.
In her book, Gordon says following numerous requests, she eventually agreed to go on a date with Brand a few weeks after she interviewed him.
They went for lunch and to the cinema, before Brand suggested they return to his for some drinks.
Gordon says he had a fridge ‘stocked with alcohol’ for her, despite the fact he is sober himself. She adds that after a few glasses of wine she went to bed with Brand.
Prior to their brief relationship, Gordon says she wasn’t aware of his ‘reputation’ or ‘that there were, by his own admission, hundreds of other girls with a Russell Brand story’ because he wasn’t as well-known at the time.
Gordon met with Brand a couple more times before his texts and calls to her stopped. A few days after the communication stopped, she opened a newspaper to see a picture of Brand holding hands with Kate Moss.
In the book, Gordon recalls telling her friends at a dinner party: ‘So, if you want to become a Hollywood star and start sleeping with supermodels…then sleep with me!’
The revelations against Brand are detailed in a Channel 4 Dispatches episode which aired at 9pm this evening, where one woman alleged that Brand assaulted her when he was 31 and she was 16 and still at school.

The comedian, actor and internet personality told his 6.5 million subscribers that there are ‘very, very serious criminal allegations’ made against him which he ‘absolutely refutes’

It is claimed the actor referred to her as ‘the child’ during an emotionally abusive and controlling relationship that lasted for about three months
She told Channel 4: ‘I think he was very skilful in the start of making his identity be, “I’m the womaniser. I’m a sex addict. I’m inappropriate but it’s all just a joke, it’s funny”.’
She added: ‘It’s a smokescreen for a lot more of his dark behaviour.’
Another woman alleged the comedian sexually assaulted her while she worked with him in Los Angeles and that he threatened her with legal action if she told anyone.
In the video he posted to YouTube and X, Brand said he vehemently denies what he called ‘very serious criminal allegations’ made against him.
