Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has inked a fresh long-term agreement with apparel company Under Armour.

The full details of the deal are yet to be disclosed but the contract will take him into his retirement. It’s been widely reported that the extension could see him rake in more than his NBA contracts worth over $473million.

The two parties first linked up a decade ago in a pact worth a reported $4m a year and now the NBA four-time champion has been given the title ‘President of the Curry Brand’ by the sportswear business.

Both Curry, 35, and Under Armour, based in Baltimore, shared the big news on social media Thursday with the caption alongside the promotional video beginning: ‘The first 10 years was just the start.’

It continued: ‘We are taking our partnership even further with a new long-term commitment to serve athletes and communities around the globe for years to come.’

Curry, who has launched his 10th signature shoe with the company, said: ‘If the past 10 years have shown me anything, it’s that Under Armour and I can build great things together. It’s all about impacting athletes and creating products that perform and resonate with them, and Under Armour does it best.’

Under Armour Executive Chair and Brand Chief Kevin Plank said: ‘Stephen is one of the greatest talents of our generation. At his core, he embodies what it means to be an Under Armour athlete and is an integral part of the Under Armour family.

‘We are excited to keep building together, bringing even more innovation and inspiration to athletes across the globe.’

Plank and Curry met in person last week when the Warriors were in Dallas for their game against the Mavericks, which they won 127-125. Curry and Co. are next in action against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

‘Belief is a big part of who I am on and off the court,’ Curry added. ‘I believe in Curry Brand and Under Amour, the team now in place, and what we’re doing together.’

‘We share a vision for a big future ahead.’

NBA superstar LeBron James agreed a similar long-term deal with Nike back in 2015.
