Brett signed as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos on April 27, 2019, and they have been partners since. The Broncos were one of a dozen teams to make Rypien an offer, according to his agent Kyle McCarthy.
Rypien, on the other hand, chose the Broncos because of his friendship with offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello.
After starter Joe Flacco suffered a neck injury, he was activated on November 1 to serve as Brandon Allen’s backup quarterback. The Broncos released Rypien on November 30, 2019, after Drew Lock was activated from injured reserve.
