A major police operation is underway after a woman was stabbed to death at a home.
Emergency services were called to a house on Sutherland Avenue at Melton South in Melbourne‘s west at about 1:30pm on Monday.
A woman’s body was discovered inside the property.
A man has been arrested and is being questioned by police.
Residents said they heard a loud argument and a woman’s screams before officers arrived at the scene, reports 7News.

One neighbour said they saw a man running down the street with blood covering his body and clothes.
‘I saw blood dripping off his hands – a lot of blood – on his legs,’ the witness told 9News.
‘It dripped all over my driveway as well, all over my car.’
Ambulance Victoria confirmed that paramedics were also at the scene.
A crime scene has been established at the property.
Sutherland Avenue and nearby roads have been cordoned off as police investigate.
The woman’s age is not yet known.
