Authorities have shut down a bridge over the Ohio River after a man threatened to ‘kill everyone’ in a bomb threat.

Covington Police say they are blocking all vehicle and foot traffic from entering both sides of the Roebling Suspension Bridge between northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.

Sources told Fox19 that a man called authorities at 5.24am threatening to ‘kill everyone if he did not get $400,000’  and ‘shoot police officers’.

Businesses close to the bridge have been evacuated as a precaution, and the US Coast Guard has shut down all river traffic in the area.

The Coast Guard office in Columbus is warning all boats to avoid the area, and first responders are in the water to man the security zone.

This is a developing story.
