Christine Silawa had half of her face skinned to the skull and many stab wounds when officers discovered her dead in a vacant lot in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Silawan, a 16-year-old high school student and church collector, was duped into meeting her mystery boyfriend by using a phony Facebook account.

Her tongue, trachea, esophagus, sections of her neck, and right ear were also gone, according to an autopsy.

Lapu-Lapu City police director, Colonel Lemuel Obon, claimed the deceased was last seen with three males before being discovered dead by onlookers. “Three males were observed with the victim, according to witnesses.”

Renato Llenes, the accused murder suspect, was detained on April 9 and made an “extrajudicial confession” for killing her. However, he pleaded “not guilty” to the murder accusations.

Llenes stated that the Momo Challenge–which was popular at the time–inspired his crime. On May 24, 2020, it was announced that Llenes committed suicide by hanging.
