A nurse shot dead in her Illinois home had earlier texted her sister to make sure her former Family Feud contestant husband was the number one suspect if she was ever found murdered.

Rebecca ‘Becky’ Bliefnick, 41, messaged Sarah Reilly before she died on February 23, warning that she feared her husband Tim Bliefnick, 39, amid their messy divorce and custody battle.

Reilly revealed the disturbing warning on Wednesday during chilling testimony at Tim’s murder trial.

‘If something ever happens to me, make sure the No. 1 person of interest is Tim,’ the text message read, according to Fox News.

‘I am putting this in writing that I’m fearful he will somehow harm me, come after me, or will try to [do] something to me that takes me away from the kids or the kids away from me.’

Tim, who appeared on the Steve Harvey game show in 2020, was arrested in March amid the murder investigation.

The new details revealed in the courtroom gave prosecutors an inside look on Becky’s fears during her last few days alive.

The text message from Becky continued: ‘He already has lied multiple times to paint himself as a victim and me as the perpetrator when it is absolutely the other way around.’

Before the shooting, Tim had taken his wife’s gun and refused to give it back, her attorney revealed.

It’s unclear what gun was used to shoot Becky 14 times but defense attorneys allege the murderer broke through a window on the second floor and shot her dead in a doorway.

Tim’s attorneys previously revealed Becky’s neighborhood was being stalked leading up to her death, according to Fox News.

They claimed to have pictures and video of the perpetrator but have not released them.

‘We have come across evidence that suggests there were individuals stalking out the neighborhood in the week leading up to the murder,’ his attorney said.

‘QPD (Quincy Police Department), to our knowledge, has never followed up with identifying or even investigating the complaint.

‘We are working with investigators to identify the person or persons we have pictures and video of.’

Becky was found dead inside her Quincy home after failing to collect the couple’s kids from school.

The couple, who married in 2009, was going through a contentious divorce and had both filed restraining orders against each other.

When he was arrested, Bliefnick was ‘very cooperative’ with officers, and handed over his keys to the home, which he rents, and his car.

The couple has three sons together, but were living separately at the time of Rebecca’s death, with court records showing their split was filed in February 2021.

Quincy Police said the murder was an unusual act of domestic violence in an otherwise safe town.

Footage of Tim on Family Feud resurfaced during the murder trial.

While on the show he joked with the host Steve Harvey that somebody’s ‘biggest wedding mistake’ would likely be getting married at all.

‘Honey, I love you,’ said Bliefnick, addressing his wife, before adding cautiously, ‘Said, “I do”?’ His response evoked laughter and gasps from the crowd and a blank stare from Harvey.

The episode was recorded in the fall of 2019 but aired in the spring of 2020, according to ABC.

Family Feud requires contestants to guess the most common responses to questions. After Bliefnick gave his answer to the biggest wedding mistake question, Harvey looked at him judgmentally.

‘Not my mistake, not my mistake. I love my wife,’ Bliefnick said. ‘I’m going to get in trouble for that aren’t I?’

‘It’s going to be a lot of hell to pay at your house,’ replied Harvey. ‘Now the only shot this has of being maybe OK at the watch party, is if it’s on the board, and it’s going to need to be number two or three.’

‘Because if it’s number seven and only two people said it that’s going to put you in the butt hole category,’ Harvey added.

But Bliefnick’s guess was good, as regretting marriage was the second most common response to the question. Of the 100 people that had been asked the question, it appeared 20 had given that response.
