A woman is suing Chick-Fil-A for $50,000 after eating a black chicken nugget that left her vomiting until she had ‘no strength left to do so’.

Shi’terra Sharp, 29, from Orange County, Florida, ordered a portion of chicken nuggets from a Chick-Fil-A in Brooksville.

She had already tucked in to her food when she realized that the chicken was ‘black in color’, according to court documents.

After consuming the suspicious meat, Sharp ‘became violently ill, was nauseated, vomited until (she) had no strength left to do so, suffered from cramping, nausea and diarrhea, and sustained great injury to her mouth, throat, stomach and digestive system,’ the lawsuit said.

The 29-year-old is now seeking $50,000 from the company, citing negligence.

The lawsuit claimed Sharp ‘sought treatment for her constant unrelenting abdominal pain and cramping, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, including, but not limited to hospital admissions at which time she was diagnosed with gastrointestinal illnesses.’

Sharp and her lawyer are suing Holland Hospitality in relation to the ‘black’ chicken nuggets  for four counts of negligence.

The counts include failing to adequately inspect and make sure its food was fit for human consumption before sale, failing to supervise employees while they prepared food, offering food that was not fit for human consumption and failing to prevent the incident in general.

Chick-Fil-A, which has been ranked the top-rated fast food chain in 46 states – including Florida, is famous for their chicken sandwiches and nuggets.

Despite their infamous chicken – this is not the first time Chick-Fil-A has faced legal backlash.

The chain just settled a $4.4million lawsuit for hiking their price on online orders to make up for low delivery fees.

In February 2023, the company was called out by a black woman in North Carolina who called for a Chick-fil-A employee to be fired after her daughter Nyiashia was handed items with her name written as ‘n****’.

Until 2020 – Chick-Fil-A was known for controversial donations to anti-LGBTQ charities and organizations.

The openly Southern Baptist company – which is even closed on Sundays for religious purposes – previously donated funds to The Salvation Army, who have said in the past that the Bible forbids sexual intimacy between members of the same gender, that any gay Christians should embrace celibacy, and that religious scripture doesn’t approve of same-sex marriage.
