Sarah, 28

A little competition is a great motivator

You could say that how I looked on my wedding day was down to sibling rivalry. I kept looking at my sister, Laura, who was shrinking in size and growing in confidence thanks to Weight Watchers, and thinking: ‘If she can do it, why can’t I?’ The reality is, she was my inspiration.

Have a goal in mind

At more than 15st, I knew I needed to lose some weight if I wanted to feel amazing at my wedding. When our Mum came on board, we became a great threesome. I set up a WhatsApp group for the three of us, so we could share recipes and show off the healthy dinners we cooked.

Mix things up

Last Christmas, I made the fruitcake instead of Mum. I decided to try a healthier Weight Watchers fruitcake recipe, and it was a huge success. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Celebrate your successes

When I had my final wedding dress fitting, the sales assistant asked me to turn to the side. ‘Look at the size of your waist,’ she gasped. ‘It’s tiny!’ I couldn’t believe it either. I’m healthier, happier and closer to my mum and sister than ever.
