Tempers flared between Colorado and Colorado State before their game on Saturday night in Boulder, with the two sides coming together at midfield after a contentious week.
While there’s no suggestion any physical actions were taken, video of the incident shows the two sides exchanging words in close proximity and being separated.
Colorado star Travis Hunter then ran towards the fans to rile up the crowd, and delivered some words to his rivals before the start of the game.
‘They done messed with the wrong team,’ he said in a video captured by ESPN.
‘All talk, no bite.’

In another clip, Hunter can be seen mocking his opponents, saying ‘Oh you’re so big and bad.’
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders – the son of head coach Deion Sanders – also fired back when a Colorado State player said he was the ‘weakest on the field.’
‘You a real h** boy,’ Shedeur retorted.
Earlier this week, Colorado State coach Jay Norvell took aim at Sanders’ signature look.
‘I sat down with ESPN today. I don’t care if they hear it in Boulder. I told them, I took my hat off and I took my glasses off,’ Norvell said on his radio show, the ‘Coach’s Show.’
‘I said when I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me.’
On Thursday, Sanders was made aware of Norvell’s comments, and used it as ‘ammunition’ for his players.
‘I’m minding my own business, watching some film trying to get ready, trying to get out here and be the best coach I can be,’ he said. ‘And I look up and I read some bull-junk that they done said about us,’ he told his players on video.
Norvell said this week on a radio show, ‘when I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat and glasses off’
‘Why would you talk about us, when we don’t talk about nobody? All we do is go out here, work our butts off and do our job on Saturday. But when they give us ammunition…
‘It was just gonna be a good game, but they done messed around and made it personal,’ he said, with his players finishing his sentence and saying the final word.
The game, which Deion Sanders’ Colorado is heavily favored to win, kicks off at 10:30ET.
