The game – one of the most iconic events in the American sporting calendar – is scheduled for February 11.
The announcement came in a video featuring Kim Kardashian, who calls him up to tell him the news while the R&B star is recording music in the studio.
‘It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,’ Usher said. ‘I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.
‘Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.’
Usher follows Rihanna, who wowed this year with an incredible performance of her own in Arizona back in February. It was later reported to have been the most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history.
