Laura Mainella from Hot 89.9 has been the lively, provocative, and opinionated voice of daytime radio for almost 30 years. The host, who was born in Toronto, Ontario, and has worked in various places, has been recognized to have one of the finest laughs in the profession.

Laura is a single mother of three dogs: Bianco, a Maltese puppy, and Higgins and Harriet, both West Highland Terriers.

Laura returned to Niagara and worked as a host at 91.7 GIANT-FM before securing her present position at MORE-FM, a station she admires for its dedication to the community.

Various journalists including Laura Mainella have accused John Derringer of workplace harassment. Corus Entertainment Inc. has put the station’s “Derringer in the Morning” show on hold three days after former Q107 radio personality Jennifer Valentyne raised complaints of workplace harassment.

On Sunday, Valentyne shared a 12-minute video on social media in which she documented years of verbal abuse and gender discrimination at the hands of an anonymous coworker.

Several former Corus employees have made similar claims against the show’s host, John Derringer, and the firm, which some allege turned a blind eye.

Derringer did not reply to several requests for comment from The Canadian Press. Corus stated that Valentyne expressed her concerns years ago and that the broadcast corporation took measures to investigate them at the time.

Though nothing much about Laura Mainella’s age is known, she is an avid animal lover. Laura devotes her time when she is not engaging radio listeners to her second interest.

Laura also runs her own organic pet food company called Higgs and Bee Greens.

Likewise, she has also adopted two Westies. She has recently fostered three cats that she had rescued herself.
