- Last-minute postponement due to illness
- Fans upset by minimal notice
- Tour picks up again on Aug 14
- Ticket holders will retain access
Just hours before showtime on August 11, 2025, Lil Wayne’s much-anticipated concert at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage (part of his Tha Carter VI Tour) was postponed due to an “unforeseen illness.” The venue shared on X that “he loves putting on nothing short of the best performances” and urged fans to “stay tuned for the new date.” All previously purchased tickets will be honored once rescheduled.
The Rapper Was Scheduled to Perform at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Monday, Aug. 11
Originally slated for Monday, August 11 at Budweiser Stage, the stop in Toronto was one of the early North American dates on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter VI Tour. The tour began in Virginia Beach on August 1 and spans across numerous cities through October 2, 2025, concluding in West Palm Beach, Florida
Fans poured out disappointment on social media after entering the venue, only to see the postponement announcement moments before the show. One user on X lamented, “Cancelling this late… when everyone is already there, should result in compensation.” Another questioned why no refunds were offered easily given travel, babysitter, and scheduling disruptions.
The Tour’s Momentum Interrupted Mid-Way Through Tha Carter VI Tour
Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter VI Tour kicked off on June 6 in New York City and covers around 36 shows across North America. The Toronto postponement followed six successful performances, with the tour resuming in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on August 14.
Budweiser Stage assured fans via social channels that all purchased tickets will remain valid once a new concert date is announced. However, Lil Wayne’s team has yet to provide any further comment or health update.
Despite concern from fans, no specifics have been shared regarding the nature of this “unforeseen illness.” Neither Lil Wayne nor his representatives have made a public statement at this time.
