Polyana Viana grew up in Sao Geraldo do Araguaia, a small hamlet in Brazil’s Pará area, where she was raised solely by her mother.
In late 2013, she began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and made her professional mixed martial arts debut.
On February 3, 2018, Viana made her UFC debut against Maia Stevenson at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Anders. She won the bout in the first round by rear-naked choke.
