An intoxicated man who changed his mind about taking his own life fell to his death from a bridge as he tried to climb back to safety.

The 22-year-old, who has not been named, had climbed on to the Crimean Bridge in Moscow.

A witness said a bystander had managed to persuade him to come down, but the man fell as the pair made their way down from the bridge.

A video shows the brave bystander guiding the man down from the bridge.

The man appears to try to get up, but then rolls forward and off the bridge, falling to the ground below.

Shocked bystanders can be heard in the background asking whether he was dead, with another saying the man had broken his neck.
