The popular French chef and My Kitchen Rules star Manu Feildel has shown off his incredible 12 kilogram weight loss – after making a few simple exercise and diet tweaks for just 12 weeks.
Manu posted on Instagram to show how he looked in both series 10 and series 11 of MKR, writing ‘no words needed’ next to the comparison snap.
Chief trained Manu, 46, for a total of 12 weeks with his partner Emilie Brabon, resulting in more than 12 kilos of fat loss and a brand new magnifique body for Manu.

How did it all start?

Chief previously told Daily Mail Australia that he first came across Manu and his wife Clarissa when they both pitched up to his exercise studio in Sydney at the start of 2019.
‘They told me that they were determined to lose weight, and wanted to begin as soon as Manu had a break between training,’ he said.
Chief said he got the 46-year-old chef and his wife ‘thinking about what they were eating and what they wanted to achieve’, before he told them to set a time frame in which they would transform their bodies.
Settling on 12 weeks, he told the couple they would be training five times a week for 45 minutes per session, and they would need to follow a specific diet outlined by Emilie.
‘Manu was very determined, and when the filming break rolled around, we got started,’ Chief said.

What did Manu eat?
The first thing that needed clearing up was the French chef’s diet.
Being a foodie, Chief said Emilie told Manu to replace all the red meat he was eating with white meat, seafood and lean fish.
She also told him to completely cut alcohol and sugar from his diet, and also get rid of both processed and complex carbs for a week.
‘It was tough, as he is a chef and used to eating, but as a world we are all too addicted to carbs,’ Chief said.
‘We did re-introduce complex carbs slowly after week one, but getting rid of them entirely in the first week is all about giving your body a quick boost and re-training your mind around your relationship with carbohydrates.’

‘Every single element of this transformation requires more water,’ Chief said. ‘And still, so many of us don’t get enough of it.’
He told the chef to stay strict with his diet, ban fatty meats and keep an eye on his portion control.
‘A big one with Manu was getting him to eat until he was satiated rather than full,’ the trainer said.
‘A lot of us eat too much and don’t listen to our bodies. This was about re-training.’

How did Manu train?
The second step was getting Manu and Clarissa on a regular training regime, whereby the two attended classes at SKWOD five times a week for 45 minutes per session.
‘We follow a method called DARC,’ Chief said.
‘This stands for Dynamic Aerobic Resistance Conditioning and it’s basically the child of HIIT and weight training.’
He said that rather than try and train the celebrities like bodybuilders, he and Emilie train them like athletes so that they end up being ‘the most athletic version of themselves possible’.
‘For Manu, we did all sorts of exercises, from boxing to weight training and hill sprints on a treadmill during tough intervals.
‘At the beginning, he was a heavy tall guy and so he looked like a baby elephant on the treadmill.
‘But by week three or four, he had totally changed his technique and looked like a fullback rugby player.’

This would be repeated over the course of the 45 minutes, until Manu and Clarissa were tired and ready to go home.
‘It’s exhausting, but it’s an efficient session,’ Chief said.
‘All you need is three quarters of an hour in the gym and then you can go away and live your life.’

How quickly did Manu see results?
According to the trainer, it wasn’t long before Manu saw results, which was instrumental in keeping him on track with his transformation.
‘Within two weeks, his body had totally changed,’ he said.
‘He was more athletic and had already dropped a lot of kilograms.’
Chief said that by the time the 12 weeks had elapsed, Manu had lost 12 kilograms of weight overall, and more than 12 kilos of body fat.
‘By now, he’s probably sitting at around 16 or 17 kilos in weight loss,’ he said.
‘He is on the maintenance program and coming in three times a week for sessions.’
Manu’s picture from series 10 and 11 of My Kitchen Rules is proof of just how much weight he has lost.
After he shared it on Instagram, countless friends, fans and family members were quick to congratulate him.
‘No words needed – just a lot of focus, commitment, great coaching and heartfelt effort,’ one person posted.

What should others do if they want to transform their body?
While there is sadly no one size fits all approach to weight loss and toning up, Chief said there are a couple of things everyone can do to get in shape.
‘The most important thing we can all do is never neglect resistance training,’ Chief said.
‘When it comes to fat loss, the more muscle mass we create through weights, the less fat we have.’
Secondly, he said you should always approach your training to suit you.
‘Approach training to achieve the most athletic version of you,’ he said.
‘Push your body to improve yourself; don’t try and replicate another person’s body.’
