In 2015, he was appointed Prime of his 180-student residence, and the following year, he was named College Prime.

Professor Sinoxolo Gcilitshana served as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Teaching and Learning at the University of Cape Town.

Sinoxolo Gcilitshana, 27, died on November 29, 2022. He taught English as a second language at Eersterus Secondary School in Pretoria.

Both a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Education with Honours in history education from the University of the Free State.

Gcilitshana was a Young African Leadership Institute alumnus who received recognition for his work in transforming Africa.

The circumstances surrounding his death are unknown. Professor Jonathan Jansen, the vice chancellor of UCT, and the former president of the UFS SRC have all issued statements on their Facebook pages.

There is no known exact cause of Sinoxolo Gcilitshan’s death at the age of 27 at the time of writing.

There was no mention of it in any of the statements conveying the tragic news. Furthermore, it is unknown whether he died naturally or as a result of a tragic event.

Sinoxolo was born on December 11, 1994 in Keiskammahoek, Eastern Cape. He graduated with honors from the University of Cape Town with a degree in education.

Sinoxolo grew up in Khayelitsha, an unincorporated community.

During his matriculation year, he received the fourth-highest grade in History.

Sinoxolo demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities while earning a bachelor’s degree in teaching from the University of the Free State in 2017.

Sinoxolo established a library in his hostel, and Jonathan Ball now donates books to it on a regular basis. He graduated from the University of South Africa School of Business Leadership with a Young African Leaders Initiative Civic Leadership degree.

He was an exceptional educator who taught with zeal and enthusiasm. His work ethic and command of the English language were admired by all.Home
