Lynlee Renick was found guilty of murder after murdering her snake-breeder husband Ben Renick in order to collect his life insurance. Lynlee was found guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the 2017 shooting death of her husband Ben in Boone County, Missouri.

The story of snake breeder Ben, who was murdered in 2017 by his wife Lynlee and her ex-boyfriend Michael Humphrey, will be told to a national audience on “Dateline NBC” at 8 p.m. Friday.

For Friday’s episode titled “Venom,” the American television show secured interviews with Lynlee, Ben Renick’s brother Sam, Montgomery County EMT Deanna Wassman, defense attorney Tim Hesemann, and many more.

Lynlee’s murder trial late last year drew national attention for her role in the bizarre Montgomery County incident.

Judge Kevin Crane sentences Lynlee to 13 years in prison for second-degree murder and three years for armed criminal action while her defense had asked for a total of 13 years.

Ben was killed when he was breeding designer pythons, which he specializes in. When the police arrived at the scene, they initially thought that one of Ben’s snakes must have crushed him.

After police carried out their investigation, they found no evidence of a missing snake. The murder case investigation lasted for two and a half years until one of the Lynlee former boyfriends came forward to tell Missouri state investigators that she admitted to him that she had killed her husband.
