Deshaun Watson is a quarterback for the National Football League’s Cleveland Browns (NFL).

He attended Clemson University and guided the Tigers to a national championship in 2016. The Houston Texans selected Watson in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Watson led the Texans to consecutive division victories in 2018 and 2019 and took the league in passing yards in 2020, following a rigid debut season cut short by injury. In each of his three seasons as Houston’s starting quarterback, he was named to the Pro Bowl.

Deshaun Watson was born in Gainesville, Georgia, to Deann Watson and Don Richardson. Unlike other children, the NFL athlete bears his mother’s surname because he was raised by himself.

In addition, numerous reports indicate that Watson never met his father. Nonetheless, Don has been an absent figure in his children’s lives since they were children.

Deshaun and his siblings grew raised without a father figure in their life, and the family subsisted solely on their mother’s earnings. They formerly resided in a government-owned apartment.

The Watsons not only overcame financial difficulties, but Deann also battled cancer. The athlete was a sophomore in high school when she was diagnosed with stage-five tongue cancer in 2011. Her tongue had to be surgically removed in the end.

Deann needed therapy in Atlanta, which was about 50 miles from their Gainesville home. Deshaun’s aunt and uncle, Sonia and Terri Watson, frequently hosted the Watson children while his mother received treatment.

Deshaun and his siblings, Sonia told Sports Illustrated, were instrumental in his mother’s perseverance.

Deshaun Watson’s parents’ birth dates and ages are unknown due to a lack of information. Don’s son, on the other hand, turns 26 on September 14, 2021.

Deshaun purchased his mother a 2017 Jaguar for her birthday shortly after being picked by the Texans. Deshaun shared images of the gift and a birthday message to his mother on Instagram.

Deshaun stepped up to assist raise his two siblings while his mother battled illness, in addition to his roles as a high school athlete. Deshaun stated before his first NFL playoff run that his upbringing helped prepare him for victory in the NFL.

Deshaun Watson Family & Ethnicity

Deshaun Watson is the youngest of four siblings. Detrick, his older brother, is 27 years old. Deshaun has two younger twin siblings, a brother, and a sister. He belongs to the African-American ethnical background

Tinisha and Tyreke are the Watsons’ children. Tinisha ran track and all three boys played football, according to the Gainesville Times.

Deshaun was responsible for looking after his younger siblings while their mother was through cancer treatment.

The Watson family makes an effort to remember where they came from. Deshaun went one step farther than putting “815” on his wristbands before games by making the numerals permanent.
