Meet Mekhi Phifer Brother Fernando Cameron

Mekhi Phifer’s twin brother is Fernando Phifer, Cameroon. The twins, born on December 29, 1974, grew up together in New York City. Both Phifers appreciated their mother for being a no-nonsense parent despite being a single mother.

While Mekhi made his acting debut in the TV movie ‘The Tuskegee Airmen,’ Fernando had to wait until 2000 to make his debut in the TV movie ‘Disappearing Acts.’ Fernando starred in another short film, ‘Sheet,’ in 2016.

While most details of Fernando’s life are unclear, it is apparent that the Phifer family specializes in acting and is full of acting hormones. Fernando also worked as a production designer on another short film, ‘Camp Victory.’

Fernando and Mekhi were close initially, but we don’t see these two brothers hanging together on Mekhi’s social media accounts. Fernando is largely absent from all social media networks, owing to his low profile and lack of desire to be active on these platforms.

Mekhi Phifer Family Background

Mekhi Phifer was born to his mother in Harlem, New York City. Mekhi grew raised in a single-parent environment with his mother, Rhoda Phifer, a high-school teacher.

Mekhi has a son from his previous marriage to actress Malinda Williams. In 2007, Oni Souratha gave birth to his second son in Los Angeles. Mekhi married his longtime lover Reshelet Barnes in Beverly Hills, California, on March 30, 2013.

In 1994, Mekhi, then 18, entered an open casting call for filmmaker Spike Lee’s Clockers, beating out over a thousand other applicants to play a drugs dealer entangled in a murder cover-up.

Phifer went on to play another role in the comedic parody film High School High and then co-starred in the horror picture I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

Mekhi appeared as “Junior Bunk,” the disturbed nephew of Baltimore drug boss Luther Mahoney, in the fifth as well as sixth seasons of Homicide: Life on the Street and also appeared as a guest character in New York Undercover. Mekhi was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for the television film A Lesson Before Dying.

Mekhi Phifer Ethnicity, Religion, And Nationality

Mekhi Phifer was born in Harlem, New York City, and is a US citizen. Mekhi looks to be of Afro-American descent, although this has yet to be proven. Mekhi’s religion appears to be Christianity.

Phifer is mentioned in Eminem’s Grammy and Academy Award-winning song “Lose Yourself.” In the 4th season of White Collar, he played Agent Collins.

In the second season of the sitcom Husbands, Phifer had a cameo appearance. Phifer became a series regular on the TV program Frequency in the fall of 2016.

Mekhi won the Celebrity Poker Showdown Championship in 2004, defeating Neil Patrick Harris during the fourth season. Mekhi competes on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood Home games for the Love Our Children USA charity.

Phifer is the chairman of the board of trustees of The Vine Group USA, a non-profit company founded in 2000 to give educational materials to African colleges. Mekhi has registered with Full Tilt Poker. On the poker community 2+2, he has his well.
