The incident happened on August 29 in Berkeley’s Strawberry Creek Park neighborhood, according to Berkeley Police. A woman named Tiffany Payne allegedly approached a 5-year-old boy on the 2200 block of Bonar Street and began bothering him.
After interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area, investigators identified the suspect. On November 29, detectives apprehended the suspect after serving a search warrant at her Bay Point House. They also discovered a loaded handgun that had been stolen during an Oakland robbery.

Payne admitted to the shooting on Berkeley’s Bonar Street, according to court documents. Hercules Police Department was also looking for her on a different handgun possession charge.
