The TLC reality show star’s daughter, Whitney, shared the tragic news on Instagram. She posted a lengthy note along with a throwback picture of her mother.
In the caption, Whitney wrote, “My mother died last night just as the credits rolled on her favorite movie.” She added, “Dad, Hunter, and I held her as she took her last breaths. It was 10:32 pm when she brought me into this world almost forty years ago.”
The late star’s daughter revealed in the same post that she had cerebral amyloid angiopathy. It is a progressive disease with no cure that is caused by proteins in the blood vessels of the brain. Whitney went on to say that the disease, like in her mother’s case, could cause dementia, seizures, or brain bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke).
Barbara had three strokes, the most recent on November 13th of this year. While paying tribute to her late mother, the late actress’s daughter stated that she is the greatest gift. She also recalled her mother’s southern charm, hilarious sense of humor, beauty, ability to make everyone around her feel at ease, and concern for others.
Whitney also thanked fans and followers for watching and loving Barbara Babs Thore. She said her mom was incredibly delighted with her new TV career than her family can describe.
She further disclosed her newfound career gave her a sense of purpose, excitement, and something to look forward to each time the crew members came around. She also hoped that Mrs. Thore’s memories would continue to provide comfort and happiness for people.
