According to Wikipedia, Mónica was found dead on April 8, 2010. At that time, they were on a holiday in Mexico.
According to reports, his wife’s body was discovered in a sewer near the Moon Palace resort. Bruce was detained and questioned by police the next day.
However, he was released the following morning. However, officials informed him that he was not permitted to leave Mexico until the investigation was completed.

48 Hours – Survivor Producer Bruce Arrested For Wife Mónica Burgos Murder
On November 16, Bruce Beresford-Redman was arrested for the murder of his wife.
According to reports, he was apprehended by US marshals in Los Angeles. He was extradited to Mexico on February 8, 2012.
Both Mexican and American officials had sufficient evidence that Bruce had murdered Mónica. His main motivations were to collect insurance money, continue an extramarital affair, and have sole custody of their two children.
Bruce was convicted of the murder on March 12, 2015. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Judge Victor Manuel Echeverra Tun.
