A Florida man has caused outrage in his neighborhood because he proudly traps stray cats that drift onto his property, never to be seen again.

David Carpozzi lives in Hollywood, Florida, about 20 miles north of Miami, and is at war with his neighbors.

Eda Lourdes Amador, who lives just a few houses down, began hanging fliers up all over her area after it was discovered that multiple cats have gone missing after being caught in Carpozzi’s traps.

She recorded herself on video confronting Carpozzi, accusing him of capturing the felines.

‘I am,’ he responded in the clip. ‘Any cat that goes on my property, I trap it and it disappears.’

Carpozzi was confronted about it by a reporter for Local 10 and denied the allegations.

When pushed on it by the reporter, he shut the door on her.

‘I have been posting all over the trees and the block so that people are aware, if their cat is missing to go and look at his house in the trap,’ she said.

Amador has had enough of her neighbor.

‘This guy needs to be stopped because he’s an evil guy,’ she said.

‘All of the cats are in danger in this neighborhood. These are community cats!’ Amador said.

Fellow neighborhood resident Erick Marino is inclined to agree, suggesting Carpozzi is a cruel man after his daughter’s cat Chloe disappeared last November.

‘Yeah, he’s lying,’ Marino said. ‘I can tell you personally, he made my daughter cry every night so I’ll never forget that.’

'This guy needs to be stopped because he's an evil guy,' Amador said. 'All of the cats are in danger in this neighborhood. These are community cats!'

He’s convinced Carpozzi is the culprit.

‘He did it to our cat and I told him, ‘My cat is in your pen. I don’t care what you’re doing, just let him out,’ Marino said.

Eventually, Chloe returned to her home but several cats haven’t been so fortunate.

Richard Lothian, Amador’s husband, was also recorded on video confronting Carpozzi, who has security cameras at his own home.

Lothian asks him in the clip: ‘Cats are free reigning animals, don’t you know that?’

‘Yeah, when they free reign on my property, they disappear,’ Carpozzi responded. ‘Just so you know, you’ll never see them again.’

Amador and other neighbors have requested a police presence numerous times, in addition to posting fliers

Lothian even attempted to get an injunction against Carpozzi, but the case was dismissed after he didn’t show up.

Hollywood Police Department have been called to the area at least half a dozen times in April and May alone.

County law states that property owners have a right to humanely catch or trap cats but they’re supposed to bring them to the local animal shelter.

Broward County Animal Care and Adoption said that they’ve never seen Carpozzi show up.

‘These poor souls have lost everything now — they have lost their homes, they’ve lost their food security, they’ve lost their care and love from their family members,’ Lothian said.
