Three men have been arrested after a man was found in a crashed car with gunshot wounds in Doncaster.

The man, 41, was found inside a green Toyota Land Cruiser at around 19:45 on Sunday on Plumtree Hill Road near Fishlake.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a ‘life-threatening condition’, according to South Yorkshire Police

Three men, aged 18, 19 and 22, who also had shotgun injuries, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They were treated in hospital for minor injuries, and now remain in police custody.

According to police, the men knocked on the door of a property in Fishlake on Sunday to ask for help, raising the alarm.

Detective Inspector Chris Ronayne, Senior Investigating Officer, said: ‘I understand the community will be very concerned to hear about last night’s incident. A man has been left fighting for his life in hospital and we are working at pace to piece together what has happened.
