The photographer and painter Ouka Leele, also known as Bárbara Allende Gil de Biedma, died on Tuesday afternoon, a month before her 65th birthday.
She died this afternoon in a Madrid hospital after an illness.
Ouka Lele was a key figure in the Madrid Movida, and she received numerous honors, including the National Photography Award in 2005 and a Silver Medal from the Community of Madrid.

Ouka Leele death cause has been referred to as prolonged illness in Spanish Journals. Her death news was also confirmed by her daughter María Rosenfeldt on her Instagram profile posting her photo.
Maria wrote a heartwrenching post on her Instagram stating, “the name of a star I love you infinitely, thank you for giving me life and teaching me to live with freedom and passion, fly high Precious,” in Spanish.
Followed by many condolences, Brianda Staut writes, “I’m so sorry Maria, I send you a big hug.”
Ouka Leele was a Spanish photographer who lived from 29 June 1957 until 24 May 2022.
Jaime Gil de Biedma, her uncle, was a prominent poet, and Esperanza Aguirre, her niece, was the Head of the Community of Madrid from 2003 to 2012.
She was a prominent photographer during La Movida Madrilena and an illustrator and author of various poetry collections.

Spanish photographer Ouka Leele daughter Maria Rosenfeldt is trained in music and design. However, she now focuses her career on yoga.
She is a 31-year-old professional yoga teacher and lives in Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras.
Rosenfeldt plays the harp, is a fashion designer and a yoga teacher, and embodies the timeless spirit of the apartment she shares with her partner, the architect Alberto Gobbino.
On the other hand, her mother Ouka’s first love was painting, and she studied Fine Arts.
Nonetheless, she dropped out to begin piano lessons simultaneously and enrolled at the Photocentro in Madrid (the first photographic school in Spain) to learn photography.

She began showing in 1978, after publishing her first works in a book named Principio.
Her images were usually black and white, so she chose to make it up when she was asked to do a color photograph for a cover.
