Prue Leith looked in good spirits as she was seen out and about in Chipping Norton on Wednesday.

The TV chef showcased her signature quirky sense of style as she opted for a bright pink and orange scarf as she wrapped up warm for the day.

The 84-year-old paired the scarf with a deep red quilted coat and a paint splattered patterned colourful blouse.

It comes after Prue announced she is taking a break from The Great British Bake Off after being a judge on the hit show for seven years.

The cookery writer will not appear on the summer celebrity version of the show.

Yet the star hasn’t completely slowed down as she arrived at Chipping Norton theatre ahead of her show Prue Leith: Nothing in Moderation at the venue on Friday.

Always one to accessorise a look, Prue added some chunky yellow and pink earring to her ensemble and some colourful pink-framed glasses.

Prue appeared bare faced as she made her way from the car to the venue, carrying her essentials in a large red handbag.

Amid the news of Prue’s departure from the hit show, Channel 4 bosses are now looking for a replacement judge to star alongside Paul Hollywood, and Nigella Lawson is a favourite.

A spokesman for Bake Off creator Love Productions said: ‘Prue will be stepping back from The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.’

‘Prue absolutely loves working on Bake Off but filming two series a year can be punishing on top of her other commitments,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She has already filmed the normal series, which will air this year but she will not appear on the celebrity version.

‘Prue has made it clear she adores the show and would like to come back in 2025. She will turn 85 next year, so it’s not surprising that she wants to take time off.’

In a statement, Prue told MailOnline: ‘I absolutely love working on Bake Off and am looking forward to filming the next series and meeting our new bakers, I am only stepping back from the Celebrity series, which is just a question of the filming commitment involved as we make these shows back to back.’

MailOnline have contacted Channel 4 and Prue and Nigella’s representatives for comment.

In 2017 Prue, who was made a Dame in 2021 for her services to food, broadcasting and charity, replaced Mary Berry as a judge.

She appears on the hit show alongside Paul, 58, and presenters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.

But her stint on the show got off to a bad start when she accidentally revealed the winner before the final aired.

Prue, who was in Bhutan at the time, accidentally revealed Sophie Faldo had won in a tweet posted hours before the finale fans had been waiting for aired.

The misguided tweet was swiftly deleted, but not before it began circulating on the web and the surprise was ruined for thousands of fans.

Prue apologised and blamed her confusion over the time difference.

Speaking during an appearance on This Morning, Prue said she was horrified by her mistake.

‘I felt suicidal… Awful. The thing that upset me most was that it would take attention off the winner. And Sophie had worked for this moment for months and months and all the column inches would be about that.’

But Prue soon found her feet in the Bake Off tent and because a firm favourite with fans.

Prue sent viewers into a frenzy last week after she swore live on air during BBC’s The One Show.

Prue was then forced to apologise to viewers as she slipped up while chatting about her new TV show – Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen.

Gasps and nervous laughter erupted through the studio after she made the blunder while talking to show hosts Alex Jones, 46, and Roman Kemp, 31.

Appearing on the popular evening show alongside actor Olly Alexander, 33, Prue talked about scenes in her new gig that will include her husband, John Playfair, 78.

Prue’s new show, which will run for 10 episodes and airs via ITV1, will star her ex-designer partner as the new set up will be held at their Cotswold home.

When asked what it is like to work with her other half, Prue earned herself a telling off by the hosts after letting a swear word slip.

Alex began her questioning, saying: ‘One of the things that is new on this programme, is a brand new celebrity, it’s your husband, John.’

Prue replied: ‘I know, I’m very frankly p****d off about it.’

The studio laughed nervously while Alex prompted: ‘Well, Prue Leith, you can’t say that on The One Show; it’s a family show.’

Appalled Prue started to apologise, saying: ‘I am sorry, I am very unhappy about it because he has turned out to be an absolute star.’
