A body that was pulled from a creek near the Brooklyn Mirage has been confirmed as Goldman Sachs banker John Castic, who disappeared from the New York City nightclub two days ago.

A significant police presence was seen at Newtown Creek, around half a mile from the Brooklyn club, as remains were hauled from the water at around 1pm Tuesday.

Several large NYPD vessels and rigid inflatable speedboats were first seen in the water shortly after 11:30am, with police confirming several hours later that the body was Castic.

The 27-year-old banker from Chicago vanished after telling friends he was getting an Uber home to his apartment in the early hours of Sunday.

The discovery comes just weeks after another man was found dead in the same creek after vanishing from the area.
