Following his arrest, he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him. Despite having previously been denied prison, records show that he was granted parole in August 2021 by the parole board.
His trial, on the other hand, ended in a hung jury, with two of the twelve members voting no. Despite this, Leasure accepted a plea deal and admitted to two counts of felony murder for hire.
