Bruce Arians is not retiring due to any illness or health problems. He had to battle health issues including skin cancer and prostate cancer.

Arians is an American former head coach who announced his retirement from coaching on March 30, 2022. He will be moving to the front office operations for the upcoming season. He is a football executive for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. 

Bruce started his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant at Virginia Tech in 1975. His slogan “No risk it, no biscuit,” is very popular and encourages aggressive playcalling. His last coaching job was as the head coach with Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bruce Arians has confirmed that his retirement decision is not related to his health or illness. On Wednesday, he released a lengthy statement stating that he has already accomplished everything on his career bucket list. 

Arians announced on March 30, 2022, that he is stepping down from his role as the Buccaneer’s head coach as he started thinking about his transition plan earlier this off-season. He declared that the decision has no relation to his health status.

He talked to the media on Wednesday and revealed that he is retiring as the succession has always been huge for him and the organization is probably in its best shape it has been in years, reports The New York Post. 

Todd Bowles, Tampa’s defensive coordinator since 2019, will be taking the position of the new coach. Arians wanted to make sure that Bowles got the best opportunity to succeed. 

Bruce Arians Health Problems & Latest Condition Explained

Bruce Arians battled several health problems over the years. He tested positive for COVID-19 in December 2021. His symptoms were very mild and he had already gotten his vaccination and booster shot. 

He was one of the outspoken advocates in the football world for getting the COVID-19 vaccines. During his tenure, Arians was the third-oldest head coach in the NFL. Talking about his latest health condition, he seems to be doing fine. 

Bruce Arians Cancer Details Revealed

Bruce Arians has battled three different forms of cancer in his life and now missing part of a kidney due to his last diagnosis, reports Sportscasting. 

During his yearly physical ahead of the 2007 NFL season, he found out he had prostate cancer. In 2013, Bruce got treated for cancerous cells found in his nose.

In December 2016, when he went to get his hernia checked out, the doctors found a renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer. In February 2017, he underwent surgery and had parts of his kidneys removed.
