The Book of John event on July 9 at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall was the Welsh comedian’s final performance before canceling his forthcoming tours for the year.

Gilbert has been performing comedy for two decades and has amused millions of people with his jokes and sketches. He has given performances at notable locations like the Royal Variety Performance. He wed Sian Harries, a fellow comedian, and writer, in August 2013 after a protracted romance.

The 53-year-old said he was pleased to be around people he trusted and appreciated the excellent treatment he received from the NHS. He even remarked that he might return with a 40-minute tirade against the orange squash.

The comedian has also been candid about his ADHD, which he discussed during a Taskmaster show.

As he and his wife have struggled to conceive children, he has additionally taken part in a documentary series addressing the Stigma associated with male infertility.

The performance of The Book of John on July 9 in Leicester’s De Montfort Hall marked the end of his 2022 tour. This was also a rescheduled performance of the one that was postponed on June 10 because Rhod had Covid.

Due to the ongoing neck and throat discomfort, the remaining performances in Swansea, Hereford, Yeovil, and Truro were postponed indefinitely.

Comedy writer and performer Sian Harries. Rhod Gilbert, a well-known Welsh comedian, is her husband.

Sian and Rhod have been dating for ten years. After being together for a while, the couple decided to get married in August 2013.
