Rosmarie Trapp died calmly on Friday evening, the Trapp family said in an Instagram post on Saturday, adding that she had been in the presence of loved ones all day.

Trapp’s family described her as one of the most excellent, gentlest spirits, with remarkable compassion, kindness, and vibrant character. Although Trapp’s death appears to be natural, Trapp’s specific cause of death has yet to be divulged by her family members and relatives.

Trapp was loved and respected by all around her. Trapp’s funeral is set on Sunday at 2 p.m. local time at the Stowe Community Church. Trapp was already buried in the Trapp Family Lodge cemetery, according to the obituary.

Rosmarie Trapp was Captain Georg’s eldest child with his second wife, Maria Augusta. Trapp was reared among her seven elder half-siblings and two younger siblings.

Trapp’s brother Johannes von Trapp, the only remaining member of the von Trapp Family Singers, and his wife Lynne and many nieces, nephews, and family in Vermont and Europe survive her.

Trapp worked at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. Trapp served as a lay missionary in Papua, New Guinea, alongside her elder sister Maria for five years.

Trapp also volunteered in Israel, staying over her Visa expiration date. Trapp, who was emotionally sensitive, had a good understanding and intuition as to who may benefit from her supporting ear, and she helped many individuals get through tough times.

Rosmarie’s generosity drove her to aid others continually, physically providing people the clothing off her back and even running out of money herself after giving money to others she believed needed it more than she did.
