Shawn Dickerson who went missing from the Rainbow Family, ultimately responded at 11:30 p.m. to apologize to his boss.
But his supervisor threatened to dismiss him if he could not be counted on to return to work. He stayed up until 4:00 a.m. conversing with two of his housemates after his conversation with his employer.
He awoke about 11:00 a.m. on December 2, 2011, and rushed out the door, informing his roommates he was late for work. He was last spotted leaving his residence on Bartlett and 22nd Street at 11:30 a.m.
Dickerson did not show up for work that day, and no one has heard from him since. When his friends and family couldn’t reach him, they filed a missing person complaint with the San Francisco Police Department on December 6, 2011.

Shawn Dickerson left all of his personal items, including his clothing, sunglasses, and an additional set of keys, inside his room. He had misplaced his identity about a month before he vanished.
Since his disappearance, his phone records and social media accounts indicate no activity. Dickerson made his last phone call to a close neighbor on the day he went missing, about 1:14 a.m., as he walked back to his apartment.
Dickerson was never diagnosed with a mental illness, but his family and friends said he had a propensity to lose touch with reality and that he could have autism or Asperger’s syndrome.
