Sophy Arabella Ridge is a well-known English broadcaster and former journalist for the tabloid newspaper News of the World. From 1843 to 2011, it was a weekly national red top newspaper published every Sunday in the United Kingdom.

She later joined Sky News as a political correspondent, where she has been presenting Sophy Ridge on Sunday since 2017, a Sky News Sunday morning talk show that debuted on January 8, 2017.

As Sky News presenter Sophy Ridge took a niche of 9 months, fans speculated that she suffered from some illness. However, the fact is that the journalist had no illness and was on maternity leave.

Furthermore, Sophy had taken nine months due to her being pregnant. As per the reports, the journalist had taken a protracted hole for higher care of her child productively.

After the break, the journalist returned to being a wholesome presenter and carried out the tv display as before. She also shared her return on Instagram and Twitter within the information.

Sophy captioned the post, writing, “I’m back on your screens from 8.30 am tomorrow morning, so what have I missed?” Her fans were really excited to see her again, as one individual adds the comment, “Welcome back. Sunday mornings haven’t been the same.”

English Journalist Sophy Ridge Health Problems And Sickness

Sky News political correspondent Sophy Ridge appears to be completely fine and doing great with her health. She is actively broadcasting on Sundays from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.

Sophy addressed herself as a feminist. Previously she took maternity leave from Sky News from May 2021 until March 2022, her absence from the morning show led many fans to assume she was sick.

After the maternity leave, the presenter actively returned to the Sky News and is fronting the Sunday morning talk show. She had also announced her return via her Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Ridge is the MNP Communications 30 to Watch award (2012) winner. She was also shortlisted as Young Journalist of Year in the Royal Television Society Awards in the year 2013.

In 2016, she earned the award for Broadcast Journalist of the Year at the Words by Women awards.

She started her career as a voiceover artist at the voiceover agency Hobson’s International in the 1990s and 2000s with Louise Michelle, Ciara Janson, Will Attenborough, and Tom Attenborough.

After graduating in 2006, she worked as a trainee reporter at News of the World, a now-defunct tabloid newspaper. After completing her training, she initially worked as a consumer affairs correspondent in 2009.

Sophy then earned a job as a political correspondent in 2011 on Sky News.
