Somy Ali is a former Bollywood actress from Pakistan who was born to an Iraqi mother and a Pakistani father. During the #metoo movement, she revealed that she was sexually assaulted when she was five years old.

The actress made her Bollywood debut after moving to Florida with her brother and mother when she was 12 years old. She was only 16 years old when she made her film debut in Anth.

Though Ali wasn’t that interested in acting, she came to Bollywood to meet her teenage crush, Salman Khan. She came to Mumbai from Florida in 1999 to continue her studies.

Ali had established herself as a well-known actress before retiring from her acting career. At the present time, she has been fighting for women’s rights in South Asia.

Somy Ali dated her teenage crush Salman Khan for eight years in the 90s. She has publically opened up about their split reasoning they broke up because they were not happy.

Afterward, she quickly left Bollywood and moved back to the US. She had talked about having a crush on Khan in her teenage.

Just a year later of entering the industry, Somy and Salman started seeing each other. After Somy left the industry, she hasn’t been in touch with the actor.

In 2022 March 30, she is all over the headlines after she called her ex-boyfriend “Harvey Weinstein of Bollywood”.

On March 30, 2022, Somy Ali Khan made a post with the caption “The Harvey Weinstein of Bollywood”. She also added the women they abused would come out one day and tell the truth.

Though she hasn’t tagged Salman himself in the post, she used a picture of Salman Khan and Bhagyashree’s Maine Pyar Kiya‘s romantic track Aate Jaate Haste Gaate. 

She also tagged Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in her post which worked as a fuel. Back in 2001, Aishwarya opened up about her ugly abusive relationship with Mr. Khan.

Followingly, people have also been questioning the picture she chose with the caption. They have also been dropping their own speculations on social media.

Did Somy Ali Open Up About The Abuse?

Though Somy Ali hasn’t said anything about her facing the abuse, she did compare Salman Khan with Harvey Weinstein. If you don’t know, Weinstein is an American film producer and convicted sex offender.

As she has yet to put a light on why she made a cryptic post, she has left things to people’s assumptions. It is not sure what will be happening next as she hasn’t said anything more than that.
