On Monday, security guards, students, and college officials discovered the body of a researcher named Suhadip Roy in the laboratory. Everyone in the neighborhood was taken aback.
What Happened To Subhadip Roy?
Subhadip Roy was found dead inside the laboratory on the Mohanpur campus. Security guards, students, and faculty discovered him lying on the laboratory floor while his head was partially wrapped in plastic.
According to some students, the door to the laboratory on the first floor of the Research Building was locked from the inside. Thus, security personnel smashed through the door and found the victim on the floor.

He was taken to the hospital, but doctors informed him that he had passed away many hours ago.
The 29 years old was working in the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research’s Department of Physical Sciences in Kolkata. He conducted research in Quantum physics, experimental physics, and condensed matter physics.
In addition, he was the previous general secretary of the IISER K Students’ Affairs Committee and was quite popular among the students.
According to an official, he joined IISER in 2014 as a 7-year Integrated Ph.D. student in Physics. He lost his father two years ago and had been worried about his widowed mother ever then.

The Iiser Kolkata students and researcher Subhadip Roy’s cause of death is said to be suicide. According to News From Nadia, around a dozen empty containers of Demoscanil Lime Sulfur, a pet drug for external anti-fungal therapy, were discovered near the dead body.
The authorities could not tell if the researcher ate the contents of the containers right away. On the other hand, Doctors believe that Demoscanil Lime Sulfur is extremely harmful to humans.
Kolkata: In a rather shocking incident reported from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research – Kolkata (IISER-K), a PhD School was found dead inside a physics laboratory on Monday.
The body has been identified as that of 29-years-old, Subhadip Roy.

The body was sent to the JNM Hospital & College of Medicine in Kalyani for an autopsy. On Tuesday, an autopsy will be performed, after which the body will be turned over to the deceased’s mother.
Sources disclosed that this is the second occurrence of the mysterious death of a student on the IISER K campus since Sagar Mondal, a second-year BSMS student, killed himself in May 2017.
