When he was arrested for child pornography, the University didn’t waste time putting him on administrative leave; instead, he was fired right away. The school confirmed that a note from the Butler University campus updates email was sent to students.
According to the letter, on Friday, professor Tiberiu Popa “was arrested on a slew of felony charges stemming from child pornography.
The school describes the accusation as “an abhorrent crime.””
The University also stated that they have no reason to believe Popa had any inappropriate relationships with minors or students while at Butler.
Popa, they believe, causes no harm to their students. However, it will be revealed only after the police conduct a thorough investigation. However, no students appear to have reported to the school if they were Popa’s victim.
