Shocking footage captured the moment two drivers left their vehicles at a set of traffic lights to throw punches at one another and wrestle on the ground.

The terrifying road rage attack unfolded on a busy road in north Brisbane on Thursday.

A man dressed in jeans and a black hoodie is seen in the video stalking up behind a seated motorbike rider before he half-punches and shoves him.

The rider gets off his bike and the other man allows him time to stand it before they start swinging punches at one another.

The two men grapple with one another before the man in the hoodie flips the rider to the ground and then a woman steps out of car to intervene.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson told the Courier Mail no charges had been laid but confirmed the incident was under investigation.

The spokesperson said it would be alleged that a vehicle had been driven close to the motorbike rider forcing it to move across lanes.

They added that there were ‘signals’ exchanged between the motorists before it escalated at the intersection of North Lakes Dr and Anzac Ave in Brisbane.

It comes just weeks after a terrifying road range attack left a man fighting for his life after suffering a fractured skull.

Father-of-two John Totsis, 47, remains in hospital three weeks after a road rage attack allegedly carried out by Ford Raptor driver Din Decevic, 34, who was refused bail in Bankstown Local Court in western Sydney last week.

Seasoned magistrate Glenn Walsh described the brutal alleged road rage attack as the ‘worst’ he has ever seen, as the alleged victim’s family said he may never be able to return to work as a bus driver.
