With Karva Chauth right around the corner, on 17th October, most if you may have already started your preparation to celebrate this one day-long festival. In this festival, married women, mostly from the Northern part of India, observe fast till moonrise for the safety and long life of their husbands. Karva Chauth is a celebrated in the month of Kartik (occurring between October and November), three ddays afer full moon’s night, that is, on the 4th day. During the celebration women start their day with breakfast, traditionally known as as sargi. After this, they stay without food and water through the day. Apart from fasting, women also have to perform the ‘Puja Vidhi’ for this festival. Fasting is a good way to detox the body and drop those extra kilos. It helps your body in reaching the state of fat burning, which helps in weight loss. However, staying without a morsel of food for that long can take a toll on your body. It can cause dehydration, acidity, lower your blood pressure and fatigue. Here are a few simple tips that’ll help you breeze through your Karva Chauth fasting.
