An Australian fried chicken restaurant has hundreds of people lining up around the block after being dubbed the ‘perfect dupe’ for popular American fast-food chain Raising Cane’s.
Flappy’s Fried Chicken in Penrith, Sydney, has recently gone viral for its mouth-watering chicken tenders, signature sauce, crinkle-cut fries, and potato bread.
The Aussie restaurant is seemingly on par with the US mega-chain which has more than 700 locations across the States.
Foodies are flocking to western Sydney to get a taste of the ‘Louisiana-style fried chicken’ the restaurant promises – with many claiming it serves the ‘best’ tenders they’ve ever had.
‘I went to Flappy’s and the lines were out the door,’ food vlogger Nessa said. ‘The potato bread was like crack – it’s buttery and so good. The tenders have so much flavour and they were more crispy and juicy than Raising Cane’s.’

Many shared their glowing reviews online.
Sam, a Penrith local, told FEMAIL: ‘I’ve been to Flappy’s at least five times in the last few months. Best chicken and waffles in Sydney and the hot honey is absolutely unreal. Shaved ice lemonade is also so good!’
Tsehai similarly praised the tenders, fries, and bread – giving the food a perfect ’10 out of 10′.
Another Sydneysider, Nina, claimed she was ‘addicted’ to the sauce and would definitely be going back to the restaurant.
‘The honey fried chicken waffles are so juice and crunchy,’ one said. ‘I’m speechless.’
A foodie added: ‘This is better than Raising Cane’s – and they give you so much more sauce.’

Others have also commended the restaurant’s American diner-style interior and aesthetic.
‘It literally transports you to the US,’ an Aussie said. ‘So amazing.’
Despite the good reviews, many complained about the restaurant’s distance from Sydney’s CBD – with public transport from Central station taking a little over an hour and a half.
‘I wish there was an easier way to get there,’ one said.
A few foodies also recommended Pappa Flock in Parramatta, Chicken Man in Kingswood, and Red Pepper Bistro in Strathfield for ‘mind-blowing’ chicken tenders.
