The Kid Laroi disappointed thousands of fans on Friday when he cancelled a major Melbourne concert almost 40 minutes after he was meant to take the stage.
And on Saturday, the star, 18, was forced to cancel his second show, with a statement revealing he’s been diagnosed with the flu and must rest up ‘on doctor’s orders.’
‘I love you all more than life itself, and it kills me that I have to postpone [the second concert],’ he wrote.

‘This is my first time touring and I’m discovering lots of new things about my body that I didn’t know before. I’m doing everything I can now to take care of myself and make sure I’m good to come back and give you all the show that you deserve.’
Laroi, whose real name is Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, attempted to take the stage on Friday night in Melbourne but was unable to perform due to the severity of the illness.
‘I wanted to perform very badly, so we called the doctors and had them bring an IV drip and some extra stuff to try and help,’ Laroi said in a social media post on Friday.

‘As the night went on, it got worse, to the point where it was hard for me to stand up and go to the bathroom.
‘I was getting super lightheaded and my body felt super heavy. I promise you with all my heart that I gave everything in me to try and get up on that stage tonight.’
‘This is my first ever tour and I absolutely hate that I’ve had to do this, especially so last minute as it’s not fair on you guys, but at the end of the day I have to put my health first and I would be lying to you if I told you I was okay to come up and perform for you.
Apology: The Kid Laroi posted an apology to fans after Melbourne’s cancelled concert Friday
‘I love you all more than anything in the entire world and again, I am so so unbelievably f**in sorry.’
The Instagram message then told how Laroi had woken on Friday feeling sick.
After testing negative twice for COVID, the performer did a sound check at the venue.
His condition grew so bad, Laroi says, that doctors administered an IV.
Attendees were frustrated that the singer waited until after the show start-time commenced to cancel the performance.
‘I went and waited two hours for him to come out all for him to cancel. Horrible and embarrassing’ tweeted one fan.
Devastated: The 18-year-old superstar rapper pulled out of the show at Rod Laver Arena, forty minutes after the scheduled start time, leaving the massive crowd devastated. Pictured: A fan responds after hearing that the Kid Laroi was unable to take to the stage Friday night
‘Such disappointment as it was my daughter’s 16th Birthday. Saved up to bring her friend down, spend a night in the city. Now she has a life long disappointing memory, instead of a great night’ said another.
‘Can you refund the flights and accommodation I paid for too. Just crap to cancel after he was meant to come on’ asked someone else at the show.
He will play his rescheduled shows on June 10 and June 12.
