Scott Mills, who has worked on BBC Radio 1 since 1998, is leaving after 24 years. There has been a significant shift in Radio 1 and Radio 2. He announced his intention to join BBC Radio 2 as a replacement for current host Steve Wright.

In addition to his radio work, Mills has made several television appearances, both as himself and as other characters. In episodes of the BBC medical program Casualty from 2006 and 2007, he played the reporter Paul Lang.

Among the voiceovers Mills has done include those for Homebase FM, an in-store radio station, the voice of the expert, Blockbuster TV, an in-store infomercial channel operated by Blockbuster Inc., and most recently, The VH1 Album Chart on the UK television network VH1.

On July 1st, 2022, it was revealed that Mills would officially join Radio 2 and take over for Steve Wright in the Afternoon when that show concludes in September 2022 by hosting a brand-new show from 2-4 pm.

Mills said about him joining Radio 2, “I cannot imagine that Radio 2 will be my new home. I’m thrilled to be a part of the team & working in the storied Wogan House among my radio heroes and friends.”
