What Happened To Sergio Perez Today? Despite his team’s race victory at the Miami International Autodrome, Sergio Perez claimed he left Miami feeling “unsatisfied.”
Sergio PĂ©rez is a Mexican racing driver who competes in Formula One for Red Bull Racing. He has previously driven for Force India, Sauber, McLaren, and Racing Point. The racer won his first F1 race at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, breaking the record for the most starts before a race win with 190.
Perez also won his first Formula One pole position at the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, breaking the record for the most races without a first pole position.
What Happened To Sergio Perez Today?
Sergio Perez made a move to take third from the Spaniard, but he quickly lost the position after missing his braking point and could not recover.
Since the Miami weekend, Perez has seen the birth of a new child, Emilio, and says he is eager to welcome him into the world with a bang.
His chances of doing so may hinge on the qualifying day in Barcelona, where overtaking has proven difficult in the past.

On the other hand, Perez has already won the pole in 2022 and has been the fastest driver through the speed trap in every Q3 session thus far.
On the 215th race start in Formula 1, he had won his first pole position, breaking the record for most events before a first pole position and becoming the first Mexican driver. He led the race until lap 16, when he pitted because of a probable undercut from second-placed Leclerc.
The safety car was deployed due to a crash by Nicholas Latifi on the same lap, allowing Leclerc, Verstappen, and Sainz to pit and maintain track position but demoting Perez to fourth place, where he would finish the race.
Sergio Perez Issue With Carlos Sainz
After finding himself on faster tires than opponent Carlos Sainz during the last laps, the Mexican driver could only finish fourth.
“Miami was a stressful week for us all, and while Max won and I picked up some key points, I wasn’t content,” Perez said.
Sainz had previously expressed concern about the long-term health of Formula One drivers due to the intense bouncing they experience on the track. The Spanish Ferrari driver stated that he would discuss the matter with other drivers before approaching the FIA.

The 27-year-old was evident in his concerns about the impact of porpoising – the car bouncing on straights as it acquires and loses ground-effect downforce – on drivers’ necks and backs during the build-up to his home Grand Prix this weekend in Barcelona.
Many teams on the grid, including Ferrari and Mercedes, have been affected by the issue, which was an unintended consequence of this year’s new regulations.
