The Denver Broncos’ Week 15 game against the Cincinnati Bengals had been a defensive slugfest through two-and-a-half quarters. With the Broncos trailing 9-3, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater launched a third-quarter drive in an attempt to respond to Cincinnati’s earlier field goal.

Bridgewater scrambled right and picked up the first down on a 2nd-and-5 play with 5:47 remaining in the third quarter, only to be hit by a Bengals defender as he was heading to the ground, causing his head/neck to hit the grass hard.

Bridgewater had been knocked unconscious, which was immediately apparent.

Teddy Bridgewater of the Denver Broncos was injured after rising from a tackle and hitting his head on the ground. He appeared to have gone limp after hitting the ground, and the cart was on its way to get him.

Bridgewater was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, according to the broadcast, despite the fact that he has movement in his extremities. Bridgewater is in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope he recovers quickly.
