Does Avocado Have Any Side Effects On The Skin?

Avocados are generally safe for most people to use on their skin. In fact, avocado oil, which is derived from the flesh of the avocado, is a common ingredient in many skin care products because of its moisturizing and nourishing properties. However, there are a few potential side effects to be aware of:
Skin irritation: Even if you are not allergic to avocados, you may still experience some skin irritation from using them. This is more likely if you have sensitive skin. If you experience any irritation, such as redness, itching, or burning, discontinue and stop using it on your skin.
Allergic reaction: Some people may be allergic to avocados. This is more common in people with latex allergies, as there is a protein similarity between latex and avocado. If you have a latex allergy, it’s best to do a patch test on a small area of your skin before applying avocado to your face. To do a patch test, apply a small amount of avocado or avocado oil to the inside of your elbow or wrist. Wait 24 hours and see if you experience any redness, itching, or swelling. If you do, do not use avocado on your skin.
