According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls, Cherok is facing preliminary counts of kidnapping and robbery.

The two instances were linked, according to Sgt. Huls and the second scenario constituted a hostage situation. He is accused of kidnapping a lady inside and forcing her into a silver SUV under duress.
According to officials, Douglass then reportedly droves the truck at cops. According to Huls, officers opened fire on Douglass at that time, shooting him as he crashed the truck.
