The Oscar-winning veteran actor comes from an illustrious acting family. From 1958 to 1960, Bridges co-starred in the television series Sea Hunt with his father, Lloyd Bridges.

He has received numerous awards over the course of his seven-decade career. His accomplishments include an Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards.

Last year, the 72-year-old actor went through a lot as he battled cancer and COVID at the same time. Bridges revealed that his cancer was in remission during that time.

Jeff Bridges battled cancer as well as COVID-19 last year which was like a nightmare. Nonetheless, the actor is back in action with his FX thriller “The Old Man” after battling life-threatening health struggles.

The Oscar-winning actor described briefly the surreal experience of returning to the set following a year-long hiatus at the Wednesday night premiere of his FX thriller series.

Bridges announced that he has been with cancer; lymphoma on the 19th of October 2020. He unveiled that his cancer was in remission on September 12, 2021, and he also contracted COVID-19 while in treatment.

However, as of now, the actor is double vaccinated against COVID-19. Bridges described the experience as surreal and stated that the experience made cancer “look like a piece of a cake”.

Jeff speaking to reporters at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on the red carpet stated: ‘I was sick for a year and then came back to work with all the same cast and crew, and it was like I had a bizarre dream or something.

Filming for the TV adaptation of Thomas Perry’s 2017 novel reportedly was initially shut down in March 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Later, the shoot was yet again halted when he was diagnosed with cancer.

The actor contracted COVID while undergoing chemotherapy and spent five months in the hospital battling for his life. Bridges also stated that he had kind of surrendered to the idea that he might die.

Nonetheless, he started to envision returning to “The Old Man” after gaining a series of health milestones. Bridges made one step at a time like how long he could stand up every other day.

One of the pushing factors for Jeff’s health milestones was his daughter Hailey’s marriage to a wonderful guy Justin. He wanted to walk her down the aisle and do a wedding dance with her.

To achieve that milestone, the Oscar-winning actor worked on that with his trainer Zach Wermers. Jeff then worked on himself as he gained confidence with every health milestone he achieved.
