Suzanne Maria Malveaux is an American television news reporter. She co-anchored CNN’s foreign news program Around the World as well as the CNN Newsroom editions.

Malveaux was previously a CNN White House correspondent and Wolf Blitzer’s main replacement on The Situation Room. She joined CNN in 2002 and is currently based in Washington, D.C.

Malveaux attended Centennial High School in Ellicott City, Maryland, and Harvard College. She earned an A.B. cum laude in sociology and wrote a senior thesis based on a semester at Howard University.

Suzanne Malveaux has never been diagnosed with any illness. Her mother, however, has ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Thus she is primarily dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the disease.

Suzette M. Malveaux is Suzanne’s twin sister. Suzanne was born in Lansing, Michigan, on December 4, 1966, to a New Orleans-based family.

Her parents are both Louisiana Creoles. Floyd Joseph Malveaux, her father, was a doctor and dean of Howard University’s College of Medicine, and Myrna Maria Ruiz, her mother, was a schoolteacher.

Malveaux moved back to Washington, D.C., to be closer to her mother, who has ALS. In 2013, Malveaux detailed her mother’s battle with the sickness in a series of CNN segments.

Suzanne Malveaux is currently in Washington, D.C., and works for CNN. Her daughter and Karine Jean-Pierre (an American political campaign organizer, activist, and novelist) live with her.

Suzanne Malveaux is using her fame and platform to raise awareness for good health conditions and against sickness.

Malveaux is personally committed to raising ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) awareness and funding research. Marathons and triathlons are two of her favorite activities.

Malveaux returned to her family’s birthplace of New Orleans in September 2005, where she covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation and recovery.

Suzanne was a member of the CNN coverage teams that won a Peabody Award for Katrina reporting and a DuPont Award for coverage of the Southeast Asian tsunami crisis.

Malveaux has spoken on several panels at the Aspen Ideas Festival and Brainstorming Summits. She is a member of the Graduate School of Journalism’s Board of Trustees.

Malveaux is dating Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Press Secretary-designate. They have an adopted daughter and live in Washington, D.C.

Most people confused her for being in a bad health situation and were worried about her. However, her mother was suffering from an illness, and Suzanenn took care of her mother.

Malveaux began his career as a general assignment reporter for Washington, D.C.’s WRC-TV and Boston’s WFXT-TV and New England Cable News.
